The perfumes you get introduced with through the different commercials contain several toxic substances that can cause harm to your skin. It is understood that herbs and flowering plants have been used in making the perfumes for thousands of years. The most common ingredients include:
- Flowers: roses, gardenia, jasmine, plumeria.
- Fruits: for the refreshing smells, lemons and oranges are used.
- Leaves: lavender, violets and rosemary.
- Seeds: they are used for the purpose of creating a beautiful aroma to the perfume like tonka beans, cardamom seeds, coriander seeds, cocoa, nutmeg, maca and carrot seeds.
- Woods: pine, rosewood, agarwood, sandalwood, and juniper.
- Essential Oils: rosemary oil, peppermint oil and spearmint oil.
- Bark: bark of some trees are used for adding richness like cinnamon.
How to Make Natural Perfume
What You Will Need,
- A 2 oz. spray glass bottle.
- Carrier oils: avoid using alcohol, you should use carrier oils like almond oil or jojoba oil in order to make oil based perfume. These oils are the substitute of alcohol in your perfume.
- Use your favorite essential oil like vanilla or lavender. In fact, there are a lot of options to choose from.
Perfume can be usually made up of base notes such as cedarwood or sandalwood through which perfume is longest active.
Middle notes such as nutmeg, basil, lavender, rose germanium, jasmine, coriander through which smell stays longest.
Top notes such as mint, peppermint, lemon, lime, orange, bergamot through which it evaporates.
Methods
- Step 1: Divide 25 drops of base, middle and top notes essential oils in equal portions. Mix them well together.
- Step 2: Choose your own level of proportions to mix 1 tsp of carrier oil in it. Shake it for thirty seconds.
